We have only been here for less than 2 months but I would give Marlton Gardens a 5 on everything! This is based on the terrible conditions that we experienced at another place. It is a GREAT place!

The Chateau was kept up well and had time for meals when they kept up on meals every day. Every one was kind and friendly. All the tenants seemed content there as well. I would have stayed longer but my son wanted me to move in with him and his family.

Although I know Stone Lodge wasn’t set up as assisted living for folks, I can’t think of a better place for Dad to have spent the end of his life. His apartment was exactly the right size for him. He wasn’t ready to fully part with life as he had known it, so thankfully there was room in his apartment to keep furniture and items that he liked the most. Familiarity was really important for him. It was awesome to have access to the guest suite when we needed it, but also the apartment was big enough that when I wanted to stay in it with him the rollaway bed fit well and was out of the walking path. I was so happy to know the rugs were being vacuumed and the cleanliness of common spaces was excellent. Even though Dad couldn’t taste food correctly anymore, due to chemo treatments robbing him of that sense, I always enjoyed the meals when visiting and he appreciated the fact that someone always brought him food up until it was clear he was in a full decline, and then they understood that bringing food was a distraction from his dying process, which imho showed true compassion and respect for his needs and wishes. Per the staff, they were wonderful. Especially giving him grace when he was in pain and could come across as harsh. In reality he spoke highly of so many of you, especially Debbie. I’m also really grateful for how everyone interacted with my sisters, as they were doing the majority of heavy lifting when it came to getting onboarding (and ongoing) paperwork processed, meeting his daily needs, and handling estate affairs. Stone Lodge was an amazing comfort to all of us.

Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with all of our questions. [name removed] worked miracles to help make arrangements for my Aunt. I toured once before I brought my aunt to tour. She fell in love with every aspect of the facility. The residents were welcoming, they stopped to visit with us after lunch. And the food is fantastic! The room we looked at was beautiful, well maintained and clean. As was the whole facility. Even the grounds! My aunt will be moving in next month.

Marketing staff was great. Management could be better. For instance my mom had surgery and I spoke to them in person about bringing her supper to her room and they forgot. My mom has done a few activities but I feel like other facilities offered more. The food is 9/10 times great. Cleanliness of common areas is fine but included in rent is housekeeping and that leaves a bit to be desired. She is in and out in 5 min an doesn't do very well. The apartment size is what we paid for. If we wanted larger it would be more so we are happy with what we have. They do replace the carpet after each person moves out so you always have a fresh carpet which is nice

The staff are all very caring. Activities and food are getting better. I love my studio apartment and yes I would recommend Wilshire Estates to other families based on the experience so far.

My mom moved in a few months ago and she has been very pleased! The staff and residents have been very friendly and helpful. She likes the food and there are a variety of fun activities offered. The activities director is also very friendly and caring. Overall it's been a great experience! I would recommend to others.

I have been quite pleased with the whole experience. It works best for seniors who do fine on their own. That being said, there are a ton of folks here you rely on their rollators. Also, individuals hire whatever help they need--for instance, I have a helper on two days of the week for about 3 hours each time. There are two sets of managers--basically one for days, and one for evenings. The day ones are especially nice. There are three meals a day that are served restaurant style. The food is so-so---sometimes things are tasty and sometimes not so much, but it is wonderful to have the meals provided so that a person doesn't have to cook or clean up. You are allowed to have toaster ovens, microwaves, coffee makers, etc. in your apartment. There are activities--there is bridge ( a lot of bridge!), cribbage, poker, mah jongg, and a game called Rummikubes (spelling make be off). There is a wonderful guy who drives the Ashton Garden van and he takes people to appointments. He even takes three of us each Monday morning over to a pool in South Portland. There are weekly outings but space is limited so there is a sign up sheet. They also have a regular schedule taking people to Trader Joe's, Market Basket, Northgate shopping center, Walmart. There are three types of room with three rental fees: studio, one bedroom and two bedroom. Many of them have little balconies. Oh, you are NOT required to come up with "up front" money. You basically are renting your own apartment--should you want to leave, you give them a 30 day notice. And lots of people have their own vehicles. Also, all residents are given a device to wear around your neck that gets help if they fall. It takes a while to get acclimated and sometimes the dining room seating is a little problematic as residents who have been here a long time have their own cliques. For a senior who basically takes care of him/herself and is looking for a community of people to interact with, who doesn't want to bother with meals and who would enjoy activities-- in my experience, this place is 5 stars.

My mother loves it. She has made good friends and likes the food. Only downside is they only have one elevator in the building.

I am writing to share my experience living in Portland's Parkrose Chateau Community (PCC) for just over a month. Having heard about how happy and comfortable an acquaintance's mother has been living here from 2022 to the present, I had high hopes. During the past five weeks, the staff and residents have helped me form even higher expectations for the future I look forward to. The community offers wonderful food, family, friends, activities, outings, transportation, and more. PCC is a truly diverse senior living option for folks brought together to create community.

[name removed] offered a great tour of the property and offered myself and my dad lunch. Dad enjoyed the food and thought the facility was very nice. Dad set up another tour so my brother can see it and will likely choose a room and make a commitment at that time.

We pass by it weekly, but were unaware of it's all-inclusive common sense amenities until A Place For Mom contacted me. The facility has great reviews, so we booked a tour. [name removed] came outside and greeted my mom before she got to the door. (It was very apparent that this gentleman was raised right.) He gave us our tour. The facility is very clean, bright and cheery, very well decorated and thoughtfully designed for it's specific patrons. The staff are very nice and attentive to the residents, and treat the them very well. The residents are nice and they interacted with us. They're very welcoming and clearly very happy there. We even had a chance to dine for lunch there after the tour and the food is very good. Their process is very simple and straightforward. No fuss at all. My mom was very pleased and has decided to make this her new home. I'm relieved that the can experience the independence she wants while her basic needs are met without difficulty.

Staff is extremely helpful, guests are very friendly, grounds are well kept, building is very clean. I would recommend to others.

Staff is wonderful, food really have not had enough but what I've had was good. Very clean place. I have only seen 1 room. It is small but good for my mom

I took the tour via a Zoom visit and I was very impressed. [name removed] was so comfortable to tour with, and she went out of her way to ensure I saw what I wanted to see.

Staff is concerned and helpful whenever there's a question. The facility is kept clean and the food is good. No complaints. Room size is adequate.

We are happy with everything except the quality of the food has gone downhill. The room we have for our mom is small but it has everything she needs -she has a great view.

The food is great, the staff all caring and involved.

Great tour may be a good fit but need to explore more in her price range before making this major decision.
