Excellent recommendations. Toured several homes and ended up going back to the first one, which was your first recommendation. Everyone was professional and helpful. You told us that the first recommendation was the best value for the money based on our needs, and it was. Your help saved us a lot of time in our search. Thank you!!

My parents seem to like the place; it's well kept and lots of activities. It's very clean; I like that instead of a key they give them a ribbon that they can wear around their neck that has a 'fob' as opposed to a key for their apartment....they just hold up to the door lock area; it unlocks then they turn a knob for the bolt....no fumbling (or losing) with a key. They also have cleaning service and sheet changing (I think weekly) that's included in their rent. My parents are on ground floor and have a small patio.....it has a metal fence/gate around it.....it's nice when we visit as we can park and just go to patio door and not have to go thru building. They seem to like the meals although my dad has commented a couple times they were out of what he wanted. But other than that I haven't really heard any complaints.

Administrative staff - 0 (I expect this will get better, now that there's new management. [name removed] was really just terrible.) Food, quality and options, over the last few months, really declined. It does seem to be improving. .Activities N/A - since my mom passed away my dad is not participating in the activities at all. Oh yes, we would recommend this community to other families. It was really great while my mom was still very active. She declined very quickly due to dementia in the last three or four months. She passed away the end of [date removed]. But yes, it was a wonderful facility when she was using it to its full extent. My dad just is kind of a couch potato and doesn't want to socialize or do anything.

Friendly people both employees and residents, dogs that brighten everyday, lovely gardens, wonderful activities, location is peaceful yet close to everything one could need.

Merrill Gardens has been very good to my mom. They have ambassadors who will escort you to dinner your first few weeks there and they have been very accommodating. Would give them 5 stars and I would recommend them to other families.

Nothing is more precious than one’s mother, nor more scary than selecting a facility for independent living or assisted living Or memory care. It is an endeavor to uncover the best economic decision that provides an ambience that you would want to personally move. I hope you have a tour with a staff member that takes the time to get know your needs for your parent, asks about what your parent is like, can reflect with you on building an mission for what care you want your parent to receive, and has a really neat personality. [name removed] was that person for me. You can view the property and pictures on their web pages age. What you can’t get is the community spirit and engaging interactions. We spent more time at this facility than other places as the interest in getting to know my parent was that important to [name removed]. When it came to the end of the tour we understood that caring for my mom would be their main interest. Thank you ??

It's nicely situated right next to a new shopping complex being built with fast food restaurants, and a new grocery store (Sprouts) getting ready to open in April. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions.

The location is great, apartments are nice, staff is friendly, it was a positive experience...my aunt was not very social or participatory, and her stay was relatively short (5-6 months) so it is difficult for me to comment a lot. I would and have recommended it to others.

My parents have only been living at Truewood for a few months, during this time they went from wanting to go home every day to saying this is HOME. It only took them about 2 weeks to settle in. They cannot say enough good things; the food is great, the employees are very kind and helpful, and they love all the games and extra activities that are provided. So my review of Truewood is that I could not have put them in a better place to call home.

It's really a wonderful place. [name removed] is the general manager. He is unbelievable with residents and with staff. Sherri is a head nurse. She is wonderful as well. The aides are smart and pleasant and hard-working. The food is excellent. They have a restaurant style dining room… It's just like a restaurant, where you order your food from the menu and then they have specials each day, and it's open from 7 AM to 7 PM. They have waffle days on Wednesday and Sunday. My mom just went to the symphony the other weekend. It is just better than we could have imagined for my mother. Honestly, if there's an opening and someone could afford it, they should jump at the chance to live at this facility. And my mother absolutely loves it.

The staff all make you and your loved one feel so special. They truly love what they do! The rooms are a good size and they keep them very busy with activities.

I really liked the rooms and everyone was so kind and accommodating Very sweet to my mother. Chose this community because of the location and affordability.

We have been extremely happy with Merrill Gardens. My parents toured several retirement communities and it became very apparent that MG was a special community. The staff is experienced and take great care of their residents. The food is exceptional as are the amenities. There are countless activites and outings for residents. My brother and I feel comforted knowing they are in a welcoming and safe environment. My parents made the right choice in Merrill Gardens.

My mom is very happy at sunshine villa. After being there for a few days she said she does not miss her home as much as she thought she would. She had lived in her home, for 68 years. She absolutely loves living in her new apartment at Sunshine villa

My aunt has been at (Truewood ) for a year and it has been absolutely wonderful. It is very, very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and attend to any request or concerns very promptly, the activities are first rate, and the value is exceptional!!

Such kind, thoughtful and nurturing care for both residents and their families. We were made to feel welcome and at home the minute we walked in the door. Every member of the staff was extremely flexible, accommodating and communicative from the application process to move-in and beyond. My MIL loves it there. We’ve had meals several times in the restaurant, and the food really is restaurant quality. Her one bedroom apartment is well-appointed, clean, cozy, has ample storage & closet space, and even has its own washer & dryer. The staff knows every resident’s name, and I watch as they make important personal connections every day. Safety is paramount, requiring each resident to push a “check-in” button located in each apartment, between 5am-9am. If the resident does not check-in, the staff immediately checks on them.

My dad fought me on moving out of his home into a facility of care. [name removed]sent us a video of an independent living apartment at Truewood. That hooked Dad. He loves the food, especially breakfast, as he is usually the first one at the dining hall. They take him to his doctor’s appointments which are less than a mile away. He goes to Walmart once or twice a week - again about a mile away. He has really perked up since moving to Truewood. Helpful staff and pleasant atmosphere. Thx so much

Moving my Mom into Merrill Gardens Hillsboro was the best decision we've made.. I use the term "we" because it was a group decision between my Mom, my Wife and me.. My Mom is much happier now after living alone for years. We knew the Interaction with like minded and aged people would be great for her, but the decision and timing had to be hers. After 10 months of patiently waiting for the facility to open my Mom was the first guest to move In, she was treated like royalty for the first week or so as the only resident before more people started moving in, and now her journey has been better than we could have ever expected.. My Wife and I feel like when we stop to see her now we are Interrupting her new lifestyle. Merrill Gardens Is much different than other Senior Living facilities, It's very easy to navigate and the food Is great with a large menu and anytime dining. My Mom says she wishes she would have made the move sooner. [name removed] and his staff have been great to work with also.

Direct employees with low turnover. Highly recommend Truewood by Merrill Georgetown.
