There seems to be not enough staff for [name removed]. The aids don't come at the appointed time consistently. The red shirts are amazing, the dinner staff is amazing, the front door staff is amazing so pretty much. It's a great place I would recommend it.

A good place overall, nice facility.

It is a nice, well kept facility with friendly staff and good meals, a good value. They were sub contracting care to [removed], which was poor. They have since switched providers. Sadly my father died at the end of September so I can not comment on the new care provider [name removed].

I felt that this community was really nice it just felt too big for my loved one. It was somewhat overwhelming for me so I knew it would be for her, it was nice just too big.

Visited New Horizons in Marlborough [date removed]. Met with [name removed], who was very informative and gave me a tour of the facilities, along with a brochure with information regarding programs, living options and amenities. It was a good visit. Concerned that the apartment sizes would be too small for my in-laws, but everything else was positive.

Accommodating Community

This is a nice community, and I would recommend it. They were very kind, and accommodating. The staff was very helpful, and kind. There are plenty of activities offered for the residents. The meals are nice. The community looks great, they do a very good job with the cleanliness. [Removed] from a place for mom was very helpful as well. This is a great community.

Visit went well & the place is emasculate and very easy to get around. I did not like having such small refrigerators in the rooms. The staff and people who I met were very friendly. I should have used a list of prepared questions, because I didn't ask a lot of them, which had to do with general room upkeep. I need to print out the Touring Checklist that you recommended. I don't have a printer so I will have to find away to get copies before I visit another place.

I toured this community and really liked the staff. We did not want a community that was big. He wanted a certain type of the community. The staff was caring and nice and it was a lovely community. We did like the variety of the meals. Families might want to tour this nice community for the care of a loved one.

This place looked very nice during our tour, but it was much more expensive than others we looked at, and didn't look that much better. This one also had a large upfront buy-in fee, which we weren't comfortable with.

We liked this facility very much. We don't feel we are ready yet, but plan to continue looking so we have more infomation when we do feel we are ready. What we liked about this place was you rented and did not buy. Also, we liked a refundable entry fee ($30,000) in case we wanted to terminate residency. We also liked the food options very much.

My (very) early experience

I'm in an apartment in one of the 'cottages'. The overall size is fairly generous, though apts. even at same rent (I think), in same bldg. vary in size, shape, and amenities. Mine has lots of sq. footage, but closet space is very limited (some have walk-in closets, different space arrangements, and a dishwasher). All NEW appliances, but teeny-tiny kitchen, and a (to me!) annoying! scary, inefficient electric stove, and just under the (very noisy!) microwave, so if you actually USE the stove, it cannot also vitally serve as scarce counter space, since dishes and drainer take up the rest of the work space. (often have to do kitchen stuff in other room, on dining table). I still have some boxes of things stacked in generous lv rm and bdrm -- logistical sorting/storing magic tricks still to be worked out. Facilities in main building are fine, but I am not on any dining plan here, and have yet to use the exercise pool, etc. There ARE many daily activities offered here -- I give NH a star for this! -- but I personally have not yet spent very much time over in main building. Sure I shall with time, maybe when winter sets in, when I get to know some people?, and when I am perhaps less engaged in my social life outside of NH. Most of the staff here ARE very friendly -- and residents also seem to make a point of saying 'hello', even to strangers.

It wasn't for me, but it may suit you just fine. We picked this community because it was cheap buy in with return and close to family.

The staff we met at this community were nice, however they did not seem as outgoing with the other staff members as the community we chose. The community was clean.

Buyer Beware - Awful Memory Care Facility

The cleanliness on the memory care side gets a 2 and if we could give the value for cost a 0 on the memory care side, we would. Whenever I visited dad in memory care- it didn't seem like anyone was paying attention to the residents. Once my father was put into memory care- costs skyrocketed. My parents couldn't afford it. Memory care allowed my dad to GET OUT at one point. We have moved both mom and dad into different facilities. It was a total pain. And NH is holding onto the deposit until January so they still have the [fee removed] they owe my parents. It's infuriating.
