We are very happy with Sterling House, not only are they clean and friendly. They really helped me out in the first six months, working with me on pricing. I also like the size and that it's a smaller community. They are good with getting him to engage in some of the activities and entertainment. They will go and get him for exercise classes and happy hour and things. I don't really have a complaint, they have pulled through with everything I have asked for. The food is good too, and the big meal is lunch and dinner is smaller meal, I like that it works out well. I kind of wish they showered them more, they do showers twice a week.

That's the best place out of all three that we have tried. It looks really good, they are taking good care of our loved one. There are no issues whatsoever. They have done a tremendous job. They keep him on his medication. Nobody ever calls to say they can't handle him. Best of all he seems to be happy.

Dad really seems to be happy here. I don't get to see the community much myself since I am located in a different state, but when we hear from Dad things seem to be going well. He also seem to really enjoy the food.

I found Clare Bridge through Find a Home for Mom. I was excited the moment I walked in to see how beautiful this facility was and hoped it would be perfect for my brother. I especially liked the friendliness of the staff and their genuine expression of concern for our particular situation. They helped me over a few bumps as my brother adjusted to his new environment. Clare Bridge is lovely in every respect. It is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lots of activity areas as well as an outside patio for quiet meditation or meeting with family and friends. The individual bedrooms are spacious and can easily accommodate personal furniture one might want to bring from home.

The facility is excellent - the rooms are neat, well-appointed, well prepared to accomodate senior needs, and clean. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. They take good care of my mom and try to help her have a meaningful experience every day.

Our family suddenly were told by our MOM's physician that should not be living alone. She is diabetic and had gotten her med/insulin confused and become very ill. After a hospital visit, I started looking for care. Upon calling Emeritus, I asked the director if she had any names of temporary caregivers. I called and hired an Emeritus prn worker to help until arrangements could be made to move MOM. Mrs. Carmie, was an angel in disguise. In interim, arrangements were made for a quick and smooth move to Emeritus. Mrs. Bowden, (director) helped with names of movers, that were excellent. I live in Charlotte, NC .Drove to Tennessee Monday, business Tuesday and the big move on Wednesday. My brother and I worked diligently to ready her room. Emeritus was wonderful to help with the necessary meetings and paperwork quickly and efficiently. I ate meals that week for lunch and dinner with MOM in a special area for the two of us so we could converse and discuss her new home. The food was excellent. We even met the chef, who was so very nice and personable. Each and every person we dealt with treated us with such caring and attentiveness. Now after stress has decreased, our Mom is doing very well , adjusting to her new surroundings and making new friends. I strongly feel without the move and the wonderful staff at Emeritus our MOM would not be alive today. It is very difficult to take care of the business end living so far away, but they make each phone call a personal experience and help me every step of the way. Her medications and injections are dispensed appropriately. Laundry and cleaning such a plus. MOM loves getting up and dressing for the day, looking forward to their activities, and making her phone calls in the am. We are relieved and blessed to have found such wonderful people working in such a wonderful establishment. We are very proud to call Emeritus our MOM's home. Thanks with all my heart to those who really like their jobs and care for those who still have much life to live.

Overall, this is a great place! The price is pretty high, though, so I rated that a little bit lower. This location was perfect for our family, and he's close by. Also, he says that he likes the food, which is good!

When I started looking for a retirement home for my mother, I was very pleased to find "A Place for Mom." They provided the names of several places that would met Mom's current, as well as future needs. I kept in contact with two places, and when the time came, we decided on the Villas of Summerfield. It was not only in a perfect location, but the facility is very well maintained and "top shelf." The management really worked with us to get my Mom into the perfect size suite for her, and continues to provide personal attention as she transitions into her new home. From her first visit, my Mom was addressed by name and treated as a valued member of the Summerfield community. A former caterer, she was immediately impressed by the set-up of the dining area and quality of cuisine. Although not typically a "joiner," my Mom has become very involved in a wide range of the activities offered. Mom has the benefits of "her own home" within a safer, supported environment. We could not be more pleased with Summerfield.

This was a beautiful place, really nice, first class. It was very expensive though and I thought that the apartment itself was small for the price it was.

Warm friendly place from employees (low turnover) to residents. It appears that much effort is made to assist residents in staying in independent living as long as possible. The food is delicious, and I discovered in touring other homes just how important that can be. The dining staff goes out of their way to try to please, maintenance staff is reasonably prompt and responsive, and marketing takes the attitude that if something desired can be done, then why not. Activities are various - something for everyone - and my mother is delighted to be making new friends after a period of isolation resulting from increased discomfort physically when going out and decreased comfort driving. She has now been living there less than two weeks, so I don't know if problems will arise, but I take comfort in knowing she likes where she is, others are around her, she can get to her doctor appointments, employees are looking out for her, and she can eat well with little effort on my part or hers. Now the time I spend with her is enjoyable rather than a frustrating series of situations requiring solutions to problems. The population of residents is diverse,and Mom and I both like that!

The staff is excellent. They seem very fair in price in comparison to others. You pay for what you get but the care you get is very good. The food is very good. The housekeeping comes once a week and they are very good. They might be a little understaffed from time to time. The building itself is very old, so the plumbing is a little worn and outdated, but it's not something that can be fixed for each individual apartment. It would have to be completely renovated. It's well kept and clean so they do everything they can. Most of the staff is very accommodating.

I haven't had the chance to visit here yet, but based on my family's feedback, this is a beautiful and clean place! I've talked to the staff a lot, and they were great with helping me with my concerns. They really take care of stuff. They pay a lot of attention to the residents, and there's lots of activities and field trips for them. They are all expensive, but there's a lot of overhead and staff, so you know what you're paying for. I definitely plan on having my loved one come back! It's a really good fit, and for being picky, if she likes it, then we like it!

What is most important is that my loved one is happy here! The people are nice, and the place is just beautiful! We are very pleased! It is in a convenient location for us, but we were also very impressed when we toured. The sales people greeted every person we saw by their name, whether they were residents or staff members. They introduced us to everyone, which reassured us that this was a friendly and relational environment. My loved one is happy with the caretakers, which is great!

Our experience with Horizon Bay was awesome. We were all treated with respect and as if we were part of their family. Everyone made us feel as if they had known us all our lives. So caring and sympathetic to our special needs. I would highly recommend Horizon Bay.

They really have an individualized type of care. Coming from such a large and elaborate place, this small and personalized community is perfect! The staff are all so sweet and loving! This place is very clean and there's no chemical smells - they're not covering anything up. It's a very simple and country style type of living, and it's very home-like. We are so pleased!

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for our loved one. We were impressed by what we saw here, and were considering this as our 2nd choice if the community we selected did not work out. The only problem we saw here was that the community felt much emptier and less social than some others that we saw.

We actually preferred the look and feel of this location to the other Emeritus we selected, however they did not have availability for the types of rooms we wanted at the time of our search, and time was an issue. This is a very nice place, however, and I would give them top marks across the board!

I love it! They just raised the prices though. It is very clean. The staff is very friendly. They are very quick with their response. The one time we had a miscommunication they were able to resolve it right away. The food is excellent and he likes that they give him lots of fruit and vegetables. I would give them a five on the food.

The staff at Clare Bridge has helped make this transition better than I could have imagined. I leaned on them for advise and input throughout the entire process of getting my mother moved in. I used them as my sounding board for every question imaginable. The biggest of those questions to me was "How will I ever get Mother to move in?" And from there - things like "How do we handle move-in day?" "What do we say when she says she wants to go home?" These were all huge mental barriers for me that the staff at Clare Bridge helped us to think through.

They were very mercenary. Everytime I turned around, I was getting another bill for something. They wanted us to use their pharmacy, and then bill us for everything. They made us feel like we had to buy their hospice service. The people were very kind and the place was nice and clean. Their caregivers seemed to be okay, but it was their overall mercenary attitude that left a very sour taste in our mouth.
