Brookdale

The overall experience was very good. I appreciated [name removed] and all the work she did on the front end to get our aunt there. She definitely went the extra mile! The activities director was absolutely wonderful and helped our aunt to fit in from the start. What a treasure for the positive ambiance. I know finding enough good help is always a challenge and I know our aunt was a challenge at times. We had some difficulties during the period of a change in the financial position, and it always agitated her dealing with the bills left in her room that were incorrect. In my opinion it would be better to let the families deal with the billing and to document on that bill any discrepancies for clear understanding. She seemed to enjoy the meals and friendships she found there. I think housekeeping could have been better. I came frequently and had to straighten up and resupply toilet paper and empty the trash almost every time. I know it's a big and ongoing job to care for the elderly. Overall it was a great fit and we appreciate all the staff and care she received there.

Everything is going very well! Staff are great and professional.

The non-management staff and nurses are very friendly and helpful. There is a need for better organization at the top level of management to improve communication and accountability. There is a wide range of residents' mental and physical facilities. Each resident should be treated as an individual cognitive to their specific mental and physical attributes. The facility is secure and safe. The meals are fair. There should be more activities outside the campus. Given the four assisted living places we looked at, this was the best one to suit my mother’s needs and lifestyle; however, there is a need for improvement to make things much better for her.

My mom has been enjoying her stay at brookdale. We can see improvements in her eating habits and demeanor. Staff is pleasant and willing to engage with mom. We are thankful . They play games have monthly dinners with family. Staff always have a smile on their face

They will never find better staff than the day staff mat Brookdale. I would recommend to others.

The facility is lovely with canals and fountains. I find it challenging to connect to the maintenance guy who is a freelancer apparently that they contract to do maintenance.

It is a great facility! Big factor for choosign it: Cost! Staff sometimes short handed/turnover, often residents need assistance with getting around, eating/cutting food, swallowing. Not sure how many staff are certified nurse assistants. They do the best they can. It's a cut above most similar facilities in this region.

Inside the main building are assisted and light memory care. On that side there are nice meals, activities and visiting spaces. My mom is in the memory care building. It's seems understaffed. Food is the same as in the main building, but entertainment is sitting and watching TV and very little else as many of the residents are non verbal or not mobile. It's needs more, but does work nicely because each person has a room, not a hall with beds.. Very important to me.

Brookdale Denton South was amazing (especially for the price). Brookdale South was a great recommendation when my dad was pretty independent but able to love alone safely. The people were all fantastic, the food was pretty good and the price made it a great value.

I relocated my parents to Kerrville from Colorado when it was apparent to me that they could no longer live independently. They were also beyond a point where I could provide care for them. My mother was in a Brookdale facility in Colorado after being discharged from a hospital there. Brookdale was able to transfer her to the assisted living facility in Kerrville. The process was almost seamless. Once in Kerrville, I was able to ensure that they got proper medical care and that their daily needs were being met. Brookdale in Kerrville made this easy for me as well.

I like how it is like a small community within the place. Staff is friendly and keep the place in good condition. I would like to see them be more proactive about trying to encourage the residents to join in the activities more. Just gentle reminders at least for those with memory issues. Other than that they have treated my mom with loving tenderness as if she was their mom. The place is very warm friendly and inviting overall. I have worked in many places for elderly living and this place is very friendly and does their best to help keep the residents from getting bored. Overall great satisfaction.

Brookdale Brookfield Assisted Living has been a good choice for our family member. They provide a safe, caring environment with many activities inside and outside the building. The onsite Physical and Occupational Therapy department is staffed with outstanding therapists. They have helped our loved one tremendously keeping him mobile and independent. The facility is well kept and doesn't have that "smell". Adequate staffing has been challenging on occasion. But, the remaining staff always bands together to provide the care residents need.

Very friendly. Medical staff is communicative. They have been successful in getting my mom out of her room and participate in the events!! Yah!! The room is a good size. We were able to buy her a recliner that fits great in the room with the furniture they provided. I am not real familiar with all the events, I know they have music ones which she loves. Just having her out of her room instead of sitting starring at the four walls is spectacular!!

Overall we liked the place- apartments were spacious and well maintained. Food was great. Although the ran out of items often for the 2nd group meals. Staff was friendly and helpful Hallways were bright and spacious. Fireplace hangout was really cozy and welcoming. Only negative- Residents did not like change or new people joining their groups. Very cliquish at times. Location was a bit far north away from major shopping areas but felt safe

It is very expensive. My rent is almost $[removed] a month. The staff makes the facility a pleasant experience.

Facility is very warm feeling. As with every facility maintaining consistent staffing is hard. But the ones selected are caring and know the residents well. I would recommend this facility to others and have.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They have awesome activities Monday-Friday. The activities are enriching and the staff are the best!!! The food choices offer a good variety and are balanced. Facility is neat and clean. Housekeeping services are solid. They all do great work. The nurses and their aids do a heroic job! On the down side, my issues are with responsiveness of outside nursing. Not the PT or OT personnel, but the NP. It is nearly impossible to talk to them. I have left numerous messages with zero follow up…unless I catch them in the facility. The other item is the noisy dining environment from the kitchen. The dining staff are less than friendly and treat some residents disrespectfully. Unlike everyone else in the facility, I firmly believe they hate their jobs.

A place for mom introduced me and my wife to Brookdale Chambrel in the Spring of 2014. We have never regretted our decision to make this place our home. The facilities are well maintained and our meals are always a pleasure to sit down to. The entire staff if Brookdale has adopted my wife and me as family. Additionally, The fellow residents have always made us feel at home.
