Arden Courts Allentown, A Memory Care Community

Well, to be honest, my mother never actually moved in to Arden Court as she was put into hospice the day she was supposed to move in. The administrative staff was an absolute five out of five, as well as the cleanliness and the friendliness. I have no doubt if my mom did move in the quality of care would have been five as well. The Director was understanding, knowledgeable. I also might add a place for MoM was also a huge help to me in the process of finding care for my mother. I give you guys a five star review as well. I had to reach out to you multiple times during my mother's last year and I very much appreciated a Place for Moms help and guidance during this very difficult year. Thank you very much.

Home away from Home

5 for all it's a great community with caring staff. The rooms are perfect - you can decorate to look like a little bit of home. The staff know all the residents even if they're from a different section. They engage the residents and meet them where they're at. They have plenty of activities for those who can and want to participate. They have secure walking trail around the facility so residents who like to wander can do so safely and there's always a staff member out there doing laps with them to ensure they don't trip or stay out to long in summer. That's the best part for my mom she loves to be outside and walking.

Delighted with Arden Courts Kensington

This is an update of my review from 2 years ago. To receive my extended review, request it at [removed] I fell in love with Arden Courts Kensington (ACK) the first time I visited it. The appearance on the outside was attractive. I was immediately given brochures and taken on a tour by the Executive Director. An available private room was well-appointed and included a private bathroom. The accessible outside courts have a lovely gazebo. My wife was recovering from surgery for a broken ankle and using a wheelchair. At ACK, she made rapid progress thanks to superior physical therapy. Now she can walk without assistance. The staff check her blood pressure and dispense medications every day. An MD visits once a week and a Nurse Practitioner is available on some other days. They all do a good job caring for her safety and hygiene and keep her healthy. My wife is happy. There are lots of daily activities as well as parties on holidays. The food is good.

Pleased at Auberge Sugarland

So far we are very pleased. The staff is awesome. They are courteous, respectful and caring to residents as well as family. The black uniforms are classy and present a very professional appearance. The rooms are larger than other places we toured and have been updated. The food I have seen served looked like good portions and had an attractive appearance. I like that each individual wing is served in a small dining room and kitchen for residents of only that wing with several caregivers in attendance. It is intimate dining with individual attention instead of one large dining room. The facility is very clean and attractive and secure. Visitors sign in and out and enter through three sets of 3 doors. My husband is receiving a higher level of concern and care than the previous facility offered. Their calendar has a full schedule of activities; however, I usually visit on Sundays and have not observed any activities. Residents are lined up in chairs in front of the TV like a movie theatre and there are no activities going on. They are served a snack in the afternoon. The only thing I am not pleased with is the large rate increase after only one month of residence.

Our family's experience. Caregivers are friendly, well trained & skilled.

Room size is good for 1 person. No kitchenette. Small refrigerator is allowed. I would prefer more caregivers & activities or age-appropriate music, especially after supper. Food is well prepared & served. Some food, such as large entrees, should be cut into bite-size pieces, before serving.

Room size is great- maybe even a little too big but it's great for someone in a wheelchair. Review for The Auberge at Sugar Land

It presents as a warm and welcoming center beginning at the front door. Refreshments are located in the front foyer. The receptionist must buzz you into center, where you sign in and out. The main greeting and activities room is well arranged with 4 wings and a courtyard for residents. Always clean. Caretakers were respectful and greeted each person with dignity. Each wing had its own dining room with table cloth and real dinnerware. Assistance was given to my husband as he continued his decline. Transportation was provided for medical appts. Veteran's Day activities co- ordinated with the school across the street. Family invited each month to meet with department heads to discuss issues for betterment of their services. The other issue I had was with their billing, told they were switching to a new software.

We toured four facilities that were not private and Arden Courts was our favorite among the four. Your facility was bright, cheerful and welcoming. We liked the idea of the facility being divided into four areas based on cognitive state. We were also impressed by the ratio of patient to caregiver. Your facility ranked second on our total list close behind one of the private facilities that we had also toured.

a great decision

Menu seems ok but I've not witnessed a meal. Staff is very attentive and friendly. You can tell they're invested in keeping residents happy and truly getting to know them. Very well maintained, security is very good, and communication has been excellent so far. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Room is pretty standard but that is intentional because they want residents out and engaging.
