Brookdale

All staff made an effort to stop and welcome Mom on her first day and she really appreciated that. The staff that cleans her apartment is extremely kind and does a wonderful job.

The care the nurses and staff give my mom is good, and we appreciate the attention they provide. The main issues have been with housekeeping, laundry, and food service. We are often told that they are short-handed, but these problems have continued for the past few months without much improvement. We understand that staffing challenges can happen, but we would like to see more consistent service in these areas, as they have a significant impact on residents' comfort and quality of life.

Brookdale Diablo has a very welcoming energy from both staff and residents. All staff from sales to resident care have been great. My mom's care staff encouraged her to participate in fitness classes. Very impressed with Ex Director [name removed] who is very present and available and responsive to my questions. The same goes for Health and Wellness Director, [name removed]. All staff are genuinely caring with welcoming positive attitudes. The facility is clean, and we had several nice rooms from which to choose. My mom had been pleased with the food quality and choices. We have been very pleased with BD.

My mother has been a resident for nearly a year and a half, and my family couldn’t be more pleased with Brookdale. The staff, including management, genuinely cares for my mom & her wellbeing AND her happiness. My mother has moderate dementia & requires assistance in dressing and personal care. Recently, I was visiting when the care giver came in to help her shower & dress. I was able to overhear their conversation and it warmed my heart to hear their interactions. There was an obvious caring relationship because they were laughing and talking so lovingly to my mom. The facility is clean & kept in great condition. Brookdale is smaller than some here but that just makes it more “family “ between residents & staff. The ultimate sign that it is a quality place is that my mother is happy and she feels safe there.

My parents moved into Brookdale Lafayette a few months ago and have successfully made the transition from independent living to assisted living due in great part to the Brookdale staff. Every staff member, from the Executive Director, [Name Removed], to the executive staff, medical professionals, aides, housekeepers, kitchen staff, maintenance workers, etc have all played a part in their successful transition. They have all been responsive, kind, helpful, positive, action-oriented and flexible as my parents have settled in. The facility is clean and bright, and the food is healthy and delicious with many daily options for the residents to choose from. I cannot stress enough what a difference the Brookdale staff and nice facilities have made to not only my parents, but also me. I am so appreciative and comforted that my parents are being cared for so well by Brookdale Lafayette.

I will say that I had two good Caregivers, one was named [name removed] and the other was named [name removed]. They took good care of me, but they both quit. I was always satisfied with my care with those two Caregivers and also Bright star for employing them!

The facility at Brookdale is absolutely beautiful clean and updated. Very professional and welcoming employees and staff. Very thorough on all the details involved with making sure your loved ones are well taken care of. Very helpful suggestions planning and well orchestrated company. I highly recommend working with Brookdale of Orland Park.[Name Removed] our point of contact has been wonderful she is so clear and precise with every detail she couldn't have made this journey more calming and welcoming to help us understand and take good care of my mother-in-law. The sales rep gave me all the information I needed along with virtual and in-person tours to make an informed decision. She even made two short videos that I could send to my Mom and my sister and brother so they could see what the place is like. I asked my Mom what she thought about Brookdale. She said… I think it’s great. When it’s meal time, they come and get me plus walk with me to the lunch room. Those who are in wheelchairs, the nurses and aids come and get them and walk with them. I highly recommend this place. Staff is friendly. Really good community vibe. She has made friends and enjoys visiting with them and going on outtings. The square footage of her studio is much bigger than the other places I visited and at a better price.

Wonderful, caring environment! Residents are welcoming and inclusive of newcomers. All staff are responsive and accommodating to reasonable individual needs. Excellent and “delicious” food options are available daily. I am newly a second generation resident of Brookdale Diablo Lodge ;and, I am so pleased to be having the same positive experience that my Mom had enjoyed for many years! Even the sign on my door that greeted me upon arrival said Welcome Home setting a pleasant tone from day one!

The entire staff are extremely responsive to their clients and their families ! It is very clean , food menu covers wide variety, there are daily activities with special events each month . The apt size, if not split for 2 , is ample for a seating and sleeping areas . Truly, I have nothing to say against this place or the staff . I am a retired PT , have lived throughout the country, practiced with geriatrics . So I know when I see a wonderful facility!

Every one is always helpful and friendly, I don't know about the food it was struggling for a minute, I live in Texas so I don't know, Sundays it's more like a ghost town if you're looking for someone.

All good so far, mom is happy with the food, staff has been responsive to any concerns. Staff has put a little effort into getting mom involved with activities which is great!

They are so loving and caring and they communicate so well with me about everything that's going on with Mom. I would recommend to others.

From the minute we walked in the front door my parents and I felt a true sense of community and connection. Residents were in common areas visiting, staff addressed everyone by name as they walked by. There was a real energy about the place. This was a real contrast from subsequent visits at other progressive care places. It was the same experience on follow up visits to Brookdale so not a fluke the first time.

Lots of activities outside of facility The residents I spoke with were happy and smiling I liked the pool and hot tub area They have one bedroom units you can rent for guests for $[removed] per night

The overall experience was great staff is attentive and accommodating. The environment is welcoming and warm.

It was very clean, the staff was so nice. I also toured Canopy Hills and I think that's a better fit for my Dad. Both places are amazing I would recommend either places.

We were not convinced it was time to make a change. Then we visited Park Place and knew we had found our new home. High rise living fits for us. The views open us to a world beyond. The elevators provide opportunity to meet and greet our neighbors. The decor welcomes homey comfort. There are many positives: friendly, accommodating staff; unusually good and varied food for a dining room serving a lot of people; responsive maintenance department; a wide variety of activities designed to please various interests; outside trip options; menu chats affording the opportunity for resident input; and a swimming pool! We are happily living at Park Place.
