Brookdale

My mom's room is always clean as is the community itself. The facility interior is old but in good shape and well kept. There is now all new staff and we were told that the new ownership is working on updating things. The new Director is doing a pretty good job in keeping us informed about all the new changes going on as well. They were having an air condition problem so they brought in window units while they were repairing the air. The staff is very caring and they try their very best. If there is a problem they call me right away and inform me about the situation I have eaten there two or three times and the food is pretty decent Cafeteria style and it varies, they have a menu that you can order off right then and there. Activities - my mom is not much of activities but they do encourage her and they do offer a wide variety. I do feel that when you have your first orientation they should go over the handbook with you and explain how certain things like doctor appointments must be scheduled in the AM and orientation would be best when a loved one first move in a sit-down situation. When I took the tour a lot of residences introduced themselves to me and told me that it was a "great place" many are professionals such as teachers living there and it is Best Value in town. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Valencia to friends and family.

I felt the community is very clean and the Staff seems to care about my mother. It is a large community so the staff is very busy so sometimes I do have to go and find them from time to time. But If I can not find someone I can leave a message and they always called me back right away. I have tried the food and it's fairly plain but this may be due to the residents individual diets. My mother is totally deaf and her vision is impaired and is confined to a wheelchair but the staff still makes sure that they included her in the activities whenever possible. Even though this community is larger than the one she came from, they take very good care of her here. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

This is an exceptional community, and my mother is doing well since her move there. This community primary focus is memory care, so I know she is receiving excellent care. The on-floor staff is very good. The "activities director" and her staff have done an excellent job. The layout of the community is in the shape of an octagon, and there is a nice open court yard in the middle. The resident is able to walk around without getting lost. The meals are good, and the chef is accommodating to the residents. She even gets to know the residents by name. There are multiple activities available for the residents. The community offers outings on a weekly basis. Everything has worked out well for us in this community. I would recommend it.

The staff have been taking great care of my husband during his respite stay! Though he has had a little trouble sleeping at night, the staff are very accommodating and are they do what they can to make him feel as comfortable as possible. I have no complaints about his stay!

My loved one just stayed for respite care, but the experience was great; my loved one has no complaints! The staff were attentive and the stay was very pleasant. We even chose for her to go back for respite care again because it went so well!

I am happy that my parents are doing good. The staff is caring and attentive to their needs. My parents like the meals that are offered. I like that they are active with the other residents. The community is clean and has a nice environment. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one.

She heard my concerns for our mother and gently directed me toward some very good options in the area of town that would work best for mother. Thank you for the help and information. It truly helped me, at long distance, find the best choice for our mother quickly.

The care at this community is wonderful and caring. The community is clean and maintained. My parents are happy with making new friends. The menu has been very healthy for them both to enjoy. They are both doing the activites and that makes me happy knowing that they are very active in everything. We would highly recommend this community for the best care and great value.

I have been to this community for a tour for care. I was only able to see a small part of the community at this time. We did like the staff and the community is small for care. They are making the community bigger for more rooms to be added to care. They menu was available with healthy choices. We like the home cooking and so many nice choices. We would recommend this community for other families.

They do have activities that are offered to the residents who want to participate. The dining area has a piano to enjoy at meal times. Brookdale followed up with me consistently but when i toured their community I felt like the residents were further along with their memory conditions. I don't think my loved one would have fit in well. It was a positive experience and I learned a lot from them.

They did a good job providing a tour. It was not a bad experience. Nothing was wrong with the place but I wanted a smaller home and not a large community. They were professional, on time, and courteous.

My love one is doing well with her move to this community. They have an attentive, helpful staff. I know she is in good hands. They do a good job with the cleanliness of the community everything is well-kept when I come to visit. They provide good meals, and nice activities for the residents. Overall everything is working out for us well in this community.

I toured this community and I liked the staff and the care that would have been available. They have a lot of this to help with him to have been active. I would suggest that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one. This community was clean with a nice environment.

My Dad just moved in and the transition has been very smooth

All is well for my dad. It is a clean facility with great staff who are providing good care. He is satisfied with the meals. They have activities available for those who wish to participate.

Our Dad can be a handful, and the staff are consistent with his care. Regardless the obstacle, mgmt. finds a way to make him happy. They go above and beyond, and we are indebted to them! They genuinely care about what they do, and tolerate unrealistic expectations, very gracefully. The mgmt. philosophy definitely trickles down. We are always impressed to see the mgrs in the trenches, with the aids and nurse, whenever the need arises. They are a team! Things aren't always perfect when dealing with personalities like our Dad, but we take comfort in knowing they actively work towards solutions. Something we never experienced at Dad's previous homes. He is happy, and we all have peace knowing they are looking after Dad, very well.
