I really do like Brookdale South Bend and the staff there. The issue we have is our mom has been difficult due to her dementia and not wanting to be there and get back home.

This small, welcoming, and nurturing environment fosters a sense of security, safety, and well-being. We picked this community, because it was the right size, the staff was very welcoming, the care provided.My loved one is the resident at Brookdale, and as his POA I visited Brookdale and other Assisted Living choices in order to select the right fit for him. I would recommend Brookdale to others as a pleasant, clean facility, in which the staff works to help residents feel safe, cared for and valued.

So far so good at this facility. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

What we really like about this community is that they communicate well with me if any incidents. Very minor incidents too. Nothing major.

The cleanliness is the best but they could have more activities outside of the facility like more shopping trips.

Brookdale was good, but they never did change out the help string to a button for our loved one

Everyone was pleasant and seemed to enjoy the food. There ws laughter going on, and the residents seemed to be happy. it was a very plesant experience but it was a smaller community of residents. My only concern is, it was near a busy intersection, which was near a college campus. There was a safety concern, considering that my loved one has dementia.

My sister loves living at Trail Creek Place. Her favorite activity is walking in the halls and in the courtyard which she is very comfortable doing.

We went with Kokomo Place because the initial visit was good, the explanation and anticipation and the fact that they are pet friendly and my dad has a dog. His dog is now part of the community and everyone loves her. They have been very cooperative and accommodating and are keeping him at a reasonable level of care. The food is pretty boring to him, he said that it seems bland and it is not very nutritious so they could improve in that area. Overall they have done a good job and I would recommend them to others.

We chose Trail Creek Place because I liked the intake coordinator as well as the communication skills from the nurse during our initial consultation. It also has a very home like atmosphere. The nursing staff has been great. My dad has a studio and it is accommodating for a temporary stay. I think that the activities could be a little more diverse. Overall, I would definitely recommend to others.

I would recommend the community to others to other's for their loved ones. Overall we are happy with our experience here. This is a smaller community and allows the staff to get to know the residents on a personal level. Everyone is friendly. There have been times the community hasn't been able to accommodate the dietary restrictions of my loved one.

If we had to return you would do it again. It is a short term stay took the staff a bit of time to know the needs of care for my loved one. Miscommunication from staff to family. Communication with the community. Upon moving in wasn't a good experience. One thing went missing and they did not know what happened to it.

I would definitely recommend Elkhart Place, and I have. I'm very confident that our loved one is well cared for. Watching interactions between the staff and the residents, the staff is very patient, courteous, and friendly. Our loved one says the food is good. And I think her apartment is very nice as well.

We were able to do an in person tour twice, the first time there were not covid restrictions so we were able to see the residents out and about. The second time had restrictions and they were actually in a bit of a lock down so we did not get to see the resident. We did however get to see two different model rooms and walk through the different facilities they had. It is a very nice place, but it was just not the right place for our loved one. With her dementia to get to the dining room she would of had to gone from her room to the elevator, downstairs and to the dining room. We were worried she would get lost, and we did not know if someone would accompany her. Also right by the elevator was a stairwell, which also made us afraid if we didn't choose the elevator that she would get lost in the stairwell or even fall.

We toured Brookdale and everything seemed very dark and gloomy. The rooms were on the smaller side and painted brown so it seemed dark and there were no windows in the living area.

The community closes at 6 pm so you cant visit after 6. The community is good with communication between the staff and the family and they are always quick to call us if we have any questions. I would recommend this community to others

We chose Trail Creek Place because we needed a facility that transitioned from assisted living to memory care if we ever needed that. My wife is familiar with the city, surroundings, and people so she felt comfortable here. My wife gets along with the staff here very well and they have been good to work with. They do also have a good medical staff. One complaint we have had is the quality of food, especially for the money paid I think it could use improvement. Overall, I would recommend this facility to others.

Brookdale is a very professional, they communicate very well, caring, and friendly environment. It is a great place for your loved one to go to. My loved one has a view of the courtyard from their room. The closest is very spacious for my loved one. They have a great courtyard.

First impression of South Bend was good, however we did kind of rush into this community and it wasn't exactly the right fit for our loved one. We still would recommend this community to a family or friend.

My mother had been a resident at Trail Creek place for the past five years. During her stay there ,I cant say enough about the outstanding quality of care that she received from the nursing staff, along with the care givers, activity directors,food services, administration and all the other departments that help make the facility run smoothly . I would recommend Trail Creek Place to anyone that is in need of assisted living facility . The minute you walk in the door you feel the warmth, caring and compassion in a home like atmosphere , Thank you to everyone who helped make my mothers last five years at Trail Creek Place feel like her home.
