My biggest problem with The Lakes is their maintenance and upkeep. often doors auto open/close fail to work, and it is not days, but weeks before repaired. Likewise, when activity director at memory care left, it was months without finding new hire. They absolutely should have had a temporary person on tap. The tv is not a replacement, especially since they tend to hype their facility as exceptional. BUT I do need to say that I appreciated the guidance from the industry, you helped me greatly during trying times

What I really like about this facility is the small size and the friendliness of everyone there. Every one is accessible to ask questions and take suggestions in the care of my husband as well as others. I did have a suggestion about food: make it accessible without instruments, as my loved one has forgotten how to use them. He either needs to be fed and or needs items cut into bite size pieces. Housekeeping is not perfect, but okay. The food is pretty good, balanced and plentiful. They try. I recommend the facility to others. It is comfortable, not palatial.

Manager and sales director left shortly after occupancy, communications very poor. Working staff friendly, and med tech responsive, but phone often unanswered. Raising rate now by going to charge extra for laundry, usually included in fee, Room is clean and neat, things look ok, but something just isn't right here.

My dad was at Crescendo for less than a year before he passed. The went through 3,directors of memory care before I left. At first, the staff was very nice and attentive, but then they brought in less than great staff. My dad died and I didn't get really any condolences from them. I was going to move him before he died due to the lack of consistency.

he rooms are spacious, and the facility is nice. It is important to have the facility conveniently located so that family can make frequent visits. Getting to know the staff is important to making sure loved ones get the best care. I believe there are staff shortages throughout the industry. Research is important to make sure the facility can and will at least hire help from a staffing registry when needed.

Overall compared to the two other memory care homes I have had my Mom over the last 10 years, Valley Crest is a 3 star for all the above categories. It is disorganized and old but the staff are fabulous and my sister is happy so in the end it is a great place for her based on what she can afford long term. My sister's experience has been stressful for her because they kept moving her from room to room. I understand they are redoing all the rooms but she is brand new there and it made her settling in much harder. I just wish they would have left her in her original room for a longer period of time. The staff were very understanding of her distress and go out of their way to reassure her.

In the memory care area it doesn't seem to be as nice as the assisted living area. It's an okay place for memory care. The staff are very responsive, friendly, and understanding. If there is a concern they are willing to take time to discuss things with me. It does seem they are short staffed, and some staff may seem overwhelmed by all the duties they are doing currently.

Our family had an in person tour and it was very nice, but we did not like it as much as we did the other communities we were checking out. However, everyone we met with gave a great presentation and had great follow up conversations.

Our family had an in person tour, and the experience was okay. We felt like the memory care section was a little more hospital like. It did not have that homey, warm, and welcoming feeling to it.

The only issue I had was that it was not easy to get a hold of some when we had questions. The community was set up good especially in memory care. I would recommend this community to others

$5k-$6100 per month. Same description as Fullerton Gardens. Seems to allow for higher functioning residents. Residential parking. Virtual tour on [date removed]. We liked the facility and could be a second choice. Our tour time cut off so we were not able to discuss mom's level of care. We will check back next week if we think this might be a more viable option.

This community is ideal for those residents that only need a low level of assistance but if your loved one requires a high level of assistance then they would have to have added services or family nearby to help. The caregivers were efficient and cordial but not that friendly and warm. The food is fair with variety offered. We chose this community because it was recommended, it was somewhat local, ad it was close to my mom's friends and her church.

There were times when the staff didn't take care of my mother's needs when she needed taking care of. There were never any activities available for my mother. They were not accommodating of her situation. The community was not a good value. If I had to do it over again I would not have placed her there.

Older facility going through renovations/facelift. Doesn't have on demand eating available for flexibility of meals. Team members didn't seem as engaged with the residents.

The feel of the room was more like an apartment. Very cozy and feels like a little neighborhood. We loved the living accommodations. We did not like the common areas. There are only 2 indoor common areas. Found them to be dated and not very well kept. There were lots of cameras but didn't seem like there was a lot of staff that walk around to monitor and help residents. During the tour we were not asked questions about our loved ones likes or personality. Other places seem much more interested in individualized care and finding ways to help integrate him into the environment. This place wasn't bad but seemed great for Alzheimer's patients who are much more independent.

The place seemed nice but for a place that said residents had free run of the place the alarms on the doors when off everytime we went outside during the tour. I wondered if they brought residents back inside if they tried to go outside. The laundry girl was unsure how often they did laundry and the room cleaner was unsure how many rooms there were to clean. Made me wonder if she cleaned them that often. A lot of staff but few with the residents. Most were congregating with each other. Model room was smelly.
